Dermatologist with Maui Roots Hired by Maui Medical Group

Maui Medical Group announced the appointment of Ellecia Cook, MD to its Dermatology Department.

Dr. Cook is a graduate of St. Anthony Junior Senior High School on Maui, and was born and raised on the island of Maui.

According to information provided by the center, Dr. Cook earned a bachelor of science in zoology and biology from Idaho State University in 2003, and a doctorate in osteopathic medicine at Midwestern University College in 2009.

She completed her residency at Largo Medical Center in Florida before returning to Maui.

A licensed dermatologist in the State of Hawaiʻi, Dr. Cook specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair and nails from infants to elderly. She also performs Moh’s micrographic surgery for skin cancers and other dermatologic surgical procedures, and cosmetic procedures for facial rejuvenation.

“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Cook joining Maui Medical Group’s Dermatology Department team,” said Cliff Alakai, administrator for Maui Medical Group in a press release.

“Not only is she an outstanding physician committed to providing the highest quality of care to our patients, but her wealth of clinical experience will also translate to better therapies for our patients who have a full range of skin disorders.”

Maui Medical Group is a multi-specialty healthcare prvode, with clinics in Wailuku, Lahaina, Pukalani and Kīhei.
