CAPTURED: Maui Police Apprehend Robbery Suspect

A man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Lahaina last week, was apprehended today, police said.

Turner Terry, 22, of Lahaina was placed under arrest at around 3 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, and charged with second-degree robbery, said Maui Police Lieutenant William Juan.

The arrest and charges stem from a robbery reported on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Territorial Savings Bank on Pāpalaua Street in Lahaina.

Police say the suspect walked into the bank at around 10:30 a.m., walked up to a teller, then left without saying a word.

About 20 minutes later, police say the suspect returned, walked up to the teller, placed a note on the counter, and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police arrested Terry today following an investigation that included tips from the community, said Lt. Juan.

Police say Terry was being held in lieu of $50,000.
