Lotulelei and Jaguars at St. Louis on Sunday

Former Baldwin High School linebacker John Lotulelei, who was claimed off waivers by Jacksonville on Thursday, will be wearing No. 53 on Sunday when the Jaguars visit St. Louis.

Seattle placed Lotulelei on waivers after claiming quarterback B.J. Daniels, who was waived by the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday.

Lotulelei received the highest signing bonus of any undrafted free agent in the league when he signed with Seattle after the draft in April. Lotulelei had a strong preseason with Seattle with 12 tackles and earned his way onto the Seahawks 53-man roster.

Lotulelei joined the Seahawks as a rookie free agent in 2013 and played in all four regular-season games before he was waived. He has four tackles, all against the Jaguars in week three when Seattle beats Jacksonville 45-17.

The Maui standout played in 25 games at UNLV, finishing with 180 tackles, 4½ tackles for loss and one forced fumble.

To make room for Lotulelei, the Jaguars released Kyle Knox, another former Seattle linebacker. Lotulelei joins cornerback Will Blackmon and safety Winston Guy as former Seahawks to end up in Jacksonville this season.

Lotulelei wore jersey No. 46 at Seattle. Sunday’s game, Oct. 6, will start at 7 a.m. Hawaii time.
