Maui Police Lt. William Juan said he could not confirm the reports at this time, but would release information as soon as it becomes available.
The house fire was reported at 6:21 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at a single-family residence located at 1364 Kakae Place, said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
Units arrived on scene at 6:26 a.m., and brought the fire under control by 7:11 a.m., said FS Chief Mainaga.
