Police Seek Public Help in Unattended Death

***UPDATE: Maui police have since identified the victim as 53-year-old Christopher Reed. Police say Reed was a resident of Lahaina, Maui.

Maui police have released a photo of a man as they seek information in an unattended death reported on Monday at a West Maui resort.

Maui police Lt. William Juan tells Maui Now that the department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a friend or family member who knows the man depicted in the accompanying photo.

According to preliminary police reports, authorities have identified the man as a 53-year-old, possibly from out of state.


If anyone has information about the person in the photo, they are asked to call police dispatch at 808-244-6400 or the Lahaina Criminal Investigation Division at 808-661-0559, Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
