Maui Weekly Roadwork: Dec. 30 to Jan. 3

There are several construction projects taking place across Maui this week.  Three projects involve work on the Honoapiʻilani Highway, and another project is planned on the Kula Highway in Upcountry, Maui.

West Maui:

Lahaina: motorists are advised of ongoing work to repair ocean erosion damage that has undermined the shoulder lane foundation of the Honoapiʻilani Highway between Front Street and Kai Hele Kū Street, fronting Launiupoko State Park.  The speed limit is reduced on the approach to the work zone. Motorists are also advised to expect delays and to follow all posted traffic control devices through the area.

Māʻalaea: Also on the Honoapiʻilani Highway, state crews announced a lane closure in the northbound direction between Kuihelani Highway and Pōhaku ʻAeko Street for road restriping.  Work is scheduled Monday, Dec. 30, through Friday, Jan. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lahaina to Kāʻanapali: Single-lane closures are in effect in both directions of the Honoapiʻilani Highway between Prison Street and Kualapa Loop for pavement marking and lane restriping.  The work is scheduled Monday, Dec. 30, to Friday, Jan. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Upcountry Maui: Lane closures are scheduled in both directions on the Haleakalā Highway between Kula Highway and Pūlehuiki Road.  Work is scheduled on Monday, Dec. 30, through Friday, Jan. 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for road repairs.
