Maui Wins Budget Award for 21st Consecutive Year

For the 21st consecutive year, the County of Maui was honored with a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the non-profit Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, county officials announced.

The award is a “nationally recognized standard of achievement” and “reflects a commitment to meeting principles of governmental budgeting,” the announcement said.

Along with the Distinguished Budget Presentation award, the county also received a Certificate of Recognition to Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa and Budget Director Sandy Baz for their work in preparing the budget document.

The award was for the FY2014 budget that began on July 1st of 2013.
