Maui Council Chair Baisa Recovering From Fall

Council Chair Gladys Baisa is recovering following a slip and fall that occurred Wednesday night, March 5.

Baisa, who holds the residency seat for Pukalani, Kula, and ʻUlupalakua, suffered a pelvic bone hairline fracture, which does not require surgery.

In an online Facebook update, Baisa said she was admitted to the Maui Memorial Medical Center and is in pain, but the injury should heal on its own.

She said she hopes to be up and around soon, but may be in a wheelchair during her recovery.
