‘Ohana by Hawaiian Launches Lāna’i Service

Hawaiian Airlines’ newest interisland operation, ʻOhana by Hawaiian, launched twice daily service to Lāna’i today.

The Lāna’i flight comes on the heels of an inaugural flight to Moloka’i last week Tuesday.

Airline officials say the new flights mark a return of regular service to the two neighbor island locations for the first time since 2004 for Hawaiian Airlines.

According to a company press release, the new ʻOhana by Hawaiian operation creates more than 100 new Hawaii-based jobs in the air transportation industry.

The flights from Honolulu to Lānaʻi depart at 9:30 a.m. and 2:40 p.m.; and return from Lānaʻi to Honolulu at 10:40 a.m. and 3:50 p.m.

“We are very excited to once again have all of our islands connected through Hawaiian Airlines and our new ‘Ohana by Hawaiian turbo prop service,” said Hawaiian Airlines Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Peter Ingram in a company press release. “The island of Lāna’i is tranquil and enticing, and we invite everyone to fly on ‘Ohana by Hawaiian and explore all of the island’s offerings,” he said.

The Lānaʻi service, operated by Empire Airlines, will use the company’s 48-seat ATR-42 aircraft.
