McDonald’s Student Employees on Maui Awarded Scholarships

Four student employees at McDonald’s Restaurants on Maui were awarded $2,500 scholarships to support them in their journey towards a college degree.
The Maui students were among a list of nine from across the state that were honored with the scholarship awards during an employee awards luncheon on Saturday.
Maui employees who earned scholarships include:
- Honey Angel Agcanas, McDonald’s of Dairy Road: Agcanas is a senior at Maui High School and plans to attend the University of Hawai‘i at West O‘ahu.
- Jhaiza Sagario, McDonald’s of Kahului: Sagario is a senior at Maui High School and plans to attend the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
- Jill Christine Blanca, McDonald’s of Ka‘ahumanu: Jill is a senior at Maui High School and plans to attend the University of Hawai‘i Maui College.
- Norlyn Ranchez, McDonald’s of Kahului: Norlyn is a senior at Maui High School and plans to attend the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo.
“McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawai‘i’s is proud of our hard-working employee scholars as they seek to pursue higher education,” said Linda Rosario, a McDonald’s Restaurants of Hawai‘i owner and operator in a company press release. “Since 1995, McDonald’s has been committed to awarding scholarships to our student employees based on academic achievement, community involvement and on-the-job performance.”
Other students recognized from across the state for scholarship awards include: Dexter Manglicmot, McDonald’s of ‘Ewa Beach; Kaitlyn Mukai, McDonald’s of Mānoa; Kylie Gumban, McDonald’s of ‘Ewa Beach; Marshall Fletcher, McDonald’s of ‘Ewa Beach; Pomaika‘i Iaea, McDonald’s of Puainako.
