No Tsunami Threat After 3.8 Quake off Molokaʻi

There is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi after a preliminary magnitude 3.8 earthquake reported at 4:42 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014, off the north coast of Molokaʻi.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued an evaluation saying there is no tsunami expected.

The USGS reports that the quake occurred at a depth of 18.7 miles and was located: 35 miles N of Kualapu’u; 42 miles ENE of Kailua; 45 miles ENE of Kane’ohe; 52 miles ENE of Honolulu; and 53 miles ENE of Halawa Heights.
