Attendance at the 92nd Maui Fair is up so far after preliminary gate totals were tallied from opening night on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014.

Maui Fair Managing Director Sherri Grimes said paid admission was up by about 2,000 individuals from last year.

Day two of the 92nd Maui Fair gets underway today with featured entertainment by Willie K at 7 p.m. and hypnotist James Kellogg at 10:45 p.m. under the Entertainment Tent.

In the events arena, the schedule includes: Zumba – Bailamos Con Brenda & Josi and The Flavas at 5:30 p.m.; a short play “Ghost Blade Shadow Warriors” Art of the Ninja at 6:45 p.m.; Seabury Hall Hawaiian Ensemble at 8 p.m.; and “Legends of Kāʻanapali” presented by the Kāʻanapali Beach Hotel at 9:15 p.m.

The Livestock and Poultry tent features a chance to sign up and win 100 pounds of Maui-raised beef, with a winner drawn each day.

The fair grounds will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight today; 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, Oct. 4; and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014.

Admission is $7 for adults; $3 for keiki 5 to 11 years old; and free for kids 4 years and younger.  Cost of admission on Sunday, Oct. 5 is reduced to $5 for adults and $2 for kids 5 to 11 years old.

Other Fair highlights include:

Vex Robotics: Friday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Baldwin High School Gym.

Wristband Day: Saturday, Oct. 4: where fair goers can purchase a 10-ride wristband for $30 between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Wristband sales end at 2:30 p.m. and ride tabs expire at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Lego Competition: Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Baldwin High School Gym.

Healthy Baby Contest: Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Entertainment Tent. Promoting the health and well-being of Maui’s keiki, the Meadow Gold community event returns to the Maui Fair Entertainment Tent Stage, with check-in at 9 a.m. check-in, and event start at 10 a.m.

Fab Fair Fun Run: Saturday, Oct. 4 at War Memorial Stadium.  Each lap you take, you’ll receive a GLOW bracelet…the more you collect, the brighter you become as a Fab Fair Fun Run participant.

10th Annual Chili Cook-Off: The 10th Annual Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety’s “Who’s Got the Heat” Chili Cook-off Fundraiser takes place at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5 in the Events Arena. Proceeds from samples benefit the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital Patient’s Transportation fund.

Fair Park & Ride Shuttles: Park and ride shuttles are available free of charge during fair hours from the UHMC soccer fields and Keōpūolani Park in Kahului, and from the Maui County Building parking lot and Wells Park parking lot in Wailuku.
