Looking Ahead

Southwesterly winds will shift westerly as a cold front moves across Maui County. The front is expected to reach Maui County Friday afternoon and evening bringing scattered showers and cloud cover. Models are indicating the winds will not be as intense as they were with our Valentine’s day front. However, conditions will get breezy. The front is expected to begin falling apart when it reaches Maui County so while localized heavy downpours are possible, we don’t expect any major flooding events at this time. Lingering moisture is expected to bring periods of passing showers through the weekend. A short period of trade winds is expected over the weekend before another front makes it’s approach early next week.
