Maui’s Gas Prices Rise Slightly

The AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch reported that statewide gas prices have increased slightly, but remain about $1 per gallon less than a year ago.
In Wailuku, average prices have risen by $.04 over the last week to $3.16 per gallon for regular. The price is still $.16 lower than last month, and $1.12 less than the same time last year.
Statewide, the current average price of regular gas is $3.08, which is a $.04 increase from last week, $.01 more than last month, and $1.02 less per gallon than one year ago.

“While rising for the past two weeks, gas price averages are still much less than they were a year ago,” said AAA Hawaiʻi General Manager Liane Sumida. “Average gas prices for the Mainland have continued to climb past $2 a gallon and a few states are close to or over $3 a gallon with Alaska at $2.86 a gallon, California at $3.44, Nevada at $2.84 and Oregon at $2.87.”
