Hāna Bay Septic System Surfaces for Discussion in Council Committee

The Maui County Council Infrastructure and Environmental Management Committee takes up discussion today on the Hāna Bay Septic System.

This comes following a public meeting held last week in East Maui.

Residents have complained of a foul smell from exhaust and smoky looking vapor coming from the area during renovation.

The county has since filed a request for an Special Management Area permit to install a leach field at the location.

Written testimony today included a request to fund a domestic water system master plan and a wastewater system master plan for the Hāna Region.
