Hawaiʻi’s Average Gas Prices Remain Steady

Hawaiʻi’s average gas price stayed relatively flat during the past week, according to the AAA Hawaiʻi Weekend Gas Watch. The current state average for a gallon of regular is $3.14–the same as last week. The price is 10 cents more than last month and $1.07 a gallon lower than a year ago.
Wailuku’s average is $3.23, a penny more than last week, 11 cents higher than last month and $1.11 less on the same date last year.
In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.12 per gallon, up one cent from last week, 11 cents more than last month and 97 cents less than the same time a year ago.
Honolulu’s average gas price has stayed the same as last week at $3.06 per gallon. The price is nine cents higher than last month and $1.10 a gallon less than a year ago.

“Around the country average gas prices have stalled or seen some price declines,” said AAA Hawaiʻi General Manager Liane Sumida. “California remains the only other state with a gas price average higher than $3, with an average price of $3.23. A few other states are in the high $2-a-gallon range, like Alaska at $2.91, Nevada at $2.81 and Oregon at $2.77.”
