Maui State Senators Take on Committee Leadership Roles

The State Senate today confirmed the chairs for all 14 committees under Senate President Ron Kouchi.

“This lineup of committee leadership is a thoughtful and effective placement of our Senators,” said Senate President, Kouchi in a press release.

Under the new structure, Maui Senator Roz Baker will serve as Chair of the Consumer Protection Committee; Senate Majority Leader J Kalani English will serve as Vice Chair of both the Hawaiian Affairs and Tourism committees; and Senator Gil Keith-Agaran will Chair the Judiciary and Labor committee. 

Senator Kouchi, who represents Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau said, “With these new configured committees, we believe we are able to better address the important issues that face our State,” he said in a press release.
