Police are requesting the public’s help in locating 18-year-old Paula J. Kahue-Miranda, who authorities say is wanted for second degree escape.

In cooperation with the Honolulu Police Department, Maui Police Department is requesting assistance in locating Kahue-Miranda, who is from Wailuku.

On May 7, 2015 at about 10:30 a.m., Kahue-Miranda left the Hawaiʻi Youth Correctional Facility, in Kailua, Oʻahu on an approved day pass. Police say she failed to return back to the facility by 5:30 p.m. that same day, violating the terms and conditions of the pass.

Maui police say Kahue-Miranda is believed to have traveled back to Maui and is known to frequent the Wailuku area.

Police described Kahue-Miranda as 5’4 tall, weighing 125 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Police say she may be in the Wailuku area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Maui Police Department’s non-emergency number at (808) 244-6400, 9-1-1 if it is an emergency or Officer Rusty Iokia at (808) 630-9729.
