Beach Cleanup at Kanahā, July 18
By Maui Now Staff
Volunteers from Malama Maui Nui, Surfrider Foundation Maui Chapter, and the Coalition for a Tobacco Free Hawaiʻi will be heading to Kanahā Beach Park to pick up litter to help preserve the beach park and surrounding area.
Event organizers extend an invitation to all to come down and help out. Supplies for the event will be provided. Volunteers should look for tables set up in the corner by the canoe club, located at the main entrance of Kanahā Beach Park.
The event begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
There will be information about projects each of these organizations are working on and how you can get involved to help keep our oceans and land free of debris.
There will also be information about the new law on Tobacco Free Beaches and Parks for all State Beach Parks and Parks, as well as the law affecting all County of Maui beach parks, parks, and recreational facilities.
Food will be provided to volunteers by Flatbread.
Volunteers are asked to please bring a reusable water bottle for hydration.
