Maui Resident Convicted of Felony at Haleakalā

A Maui resident was sentenced to 27 months in jail after being convicted on Monday of felony charges.

The charge stem from an investigation initiated on Jan. 13, 2014 at Haleakalā National Park, where rangers with the Investigative Services Branch documented accounts of property taken from motor vehicles within the park boundaries.

According to court documents, Alan K. Hudcovic was convicted of unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

He was sentenced on Aug. 24, 2015 in US District Court by Judge Michael J. Seabright.

Under the order, Hudcovic, upon release from prison, is ordered to be on supervised release for three years.

Court documents indicate that Hudcovic was observed within a Toyota sedan, with intent to commit a crime, but access to details of the incident were restricted from public view.
