Manpower Shortage Affects Two Central Maui Trash Routes

A manpower shortage has resulted in missed trash collection on two Central Maui routes today, Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015.

The missed service affects customers on Route #1 including those on the following streets: Wakea Avenue; Hina Avenue; West Kauaʻi Street; Puʻukani Street; Aoloa Street; Kea Street; Kaʻao Circle; Ano Street; Aleo Place; Ohaʻa Street; Oneheʻe Avenue; Waikala Street; Pōhaku Street; and Kaimana Street as well as all surrounding streets.

Customers on Route #2 were also affected including those on the following streets: Kamehameha Avenue; Kaulana Street; Molokaʻi Hema Street; Niʻihau Street; Moali Street; West Lānaʻi Street; South Lānaʻi Street; Kāne Street; Alehele Street; South Oʻahu Street; Molokaʻi Akau Street; Kaulawahine Street; Waiehu Kou 1, 2, 3 and 4; Waiheʻe Town; Ocean View Estates; and Waiehu Heights as well as all surrounding streets.

County officials say service on both routes will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015.  The Department of Environmental Management apologized for the inconvenience and appreciates the community’s understanding and cooperation.
