Maui Now’s Malika Dudley interviewed event chair and board member Karey Kapoi before checking in with the Lahaina Club’s team and their chef mentor, Sheldon Simeon. Check out the video above to see the keiki hard at work and the wonderful dishes that they prepared.

The evening began with pupus prepared by teams comprised of Club members in collaboration with some of Maui’s top chefs. The teams participated in a friendly culinary competition to kick off the night. There were five categories of competition; People’s Choice, Best Tasting, Best Presentation, Most Creative and Best Farm to Table. Each team was awarded the top prize in at least one category so that all Club members left winners.
