Staff Shortage Affects Refuse Pickups in Wailuku

Waiehu trash route missed. Maui Now graphic.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced that due to a staff shortage, a residential refuse collection route in the Wailuku area was not picked up as planned on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015.

All missed pickups are expected to be completed on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015.

Affected areas include:

  • Waiehu Terrace;
  • Waiehu Hawaiian Homes;
  • Wailuku Country Estates;
  • KaŹ»ae Raod;
  • Ukali Road;
  • Nukuwai Road;
  • and all surrounding streets.

Personnel from the Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community for their understanding and cooperation.
