Maui Roller Girls to Hold Lip Sync, Calendar Release Party

Maui Roller Girls will host its first annual Epic Lip Sync Battle 2015 and 2016 Rockin’ Roller Derby Calendar release party on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Maui Brewing Company in Kīhei.

The entry fee is $5 or buy a 2016 Maui Roller Girls Calendar for $20 and admission is free.

Guest judges will choose the top three contestants who will then have a lip sync battle royale to a specially chosen song to determine who will be named the “Lip Sync Master of Maui.”

Contest Rules

1. Contestants should pick three songs (back-up options in case your first choice is already taken). Songs will be reserved on a  first-come, first-serve, so send in your form early (see below).

2. Each “syncer” will perform one song choice; a panel of guest judges will chose the top three performers.

3. The top three competitors will go head-to-head, performing the same song at the same time. The winner will be determined by the audience.

Costumes, duets, group numbers and props are encouraged.

The grand prize is a Limited Edition Maui Roller Girls T-Shirt and a signed copy of the Maui Roller Girls 2016 Rockin’ Roller Derby Calendar and bragging rights as Maui’s “Lip Sync Master.”
