A cast of 37 Maui Prep Middle and Upper School students, directed by Vania Jerome, present Seussical Jr. on the Maui Prep Campus in Napili. This fun family friendly musical takes you into the world of Dr. Seuss, where the Cat in the Hat leads us through the adventures of Horton the Elephant hatching the egg and finding the Who’s dust speck! Cat in the Hat striped hats will be available for purchase for audience participation in the show. Shows are Friday and Saturday, November 20-21, at 6:30pm. All tickets are $10 General Admission and may be purchased from any cast member or at the Maui Prep Office, 808-665-9966. ?Chef Bloc Dinner Features “Belly & Snout” Theme
Wailea · Andaz · 6 p.m. Chef de Cuisine Ritchard Cariaga of Ka‘ana Kitchen at Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort will reunite with Head Chef of Hana Ranch Provisions, Gary Johnson, for a unique dinner with the theme of “Belly & Snout.” Focusing on quality, artisanship and creativity, Chef Bloc is a monthly dinner series featuring various chef collaborations between Cariaga and his talented culinary friends. Each dinner is limited to only twelve guests, allowing for a personal yet interactive environment where diners can watch the process from up close, ask questions and even help plate the dishes.

Victoria Kneubuhl’s courtroom drama reenacts Queen Liliuokalani’s trial for treason. The play focuses on events in 1895, after Hawaiian nationalists failed to restore the queen to her throne and she was tried by an American court for allegedly allowing the uprising against the new republic by her followers. The play explores unresolved sovereignty issues triggered by the U.S. overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy.
Maui Roller Girls will host its first annual Epic Lip Sync Battle 2015 and 2016 Rockin’ Roller Derby Calendar release party on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Maui Brewing Company in Kīhei. The entry fee is $5 or buy a 2016 Maui Roller Girls Calendar for $20 and admission is free. Guest judges will choose the top three contestants who will then have a lip sync battle royale to a specially chosen song to determine who will be named the “Lip Sync Master of Maui.” Costumes, duets, group numbers and props are encouraged,” by MauiNow.com. Sindulgence!, a burlesque variety show hosted by Cabaret & Cocktails, is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, at ProArts Playhouse in Azeka Shopping Center in Kīhei. The Smooth Jazz All-Stars features sax-man Paul Taylor, two-time Grammy Award-winning guitarist Paul Brown, Grammy-winning pianist Gregg Karukas and Hawaii’s own Michael Paulo. In the 19 years since Paul Taylor first got “On the Horn” with his hit debut album, he’s enjoyed an extraordinary journey in the contemporary urban jazz world. With ten solo releases, Paul is back, and will be featuring new songs from his latest release, “Tenacity.” Paul Brown’s talents as producer/engineer have earned him two Grammy Awards and an impressive string of more than 60 #1 hits. In an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Brown has worked on projects for such influential artists as George Benson, Al Jarreau, Kirk Whalum, Patti Austin, Norman Brown, Luther Vandross, Boney James, and more. He will be featuring tracks from his new release, “Truth be Told.” Grammy Award-winning pianist/composer, Gregg Karukas, is a very familiar face to the Hawaii audience. His latest recording, “Soul Secrets,” has garnered back-to-back #1 radio hit songs. With over 11 solo releases, Greg has had a string of #1 smooth jazz songs and is one of the most sought-after pianists in the genre. Mele Ukulele and The Shops at Wailea invite the public to the free Ukulele Mix Plate events on the first, second and fourth Wednesday—Nov. 4, 11 and 25—at the fountain courtyard between 6 and 8 p.m. Ukulele Mix Plate is an interactive ‘ukulele music event in which attendees can learn about the host culture, about the state’s official musical instrument and even learn how to play. The band has sold more than 70 million units worldwide. The band, formed in 1979 in Birmingham, England, pooling a diverse set of influences to put a fresh, indigenous slant on Jamaican reggae.
