North: Wave heights are 2 to 3 times overhead today maybe up to 4 times overhead for the best exposed shores. Swell is on a downward trend through the day.

West: Wrap from a northwest swell continues.

South: Wave heights are knee/waist high today as the southwest swell fades. Northwest wrap will filter into some spots.

Our current northwest swell is expected to slowly taper off and shift more out of the north over the next couple of days. A second large west-northwest swell is likely Sunday through Monday, resulting in warning-level surf along north and west facing shores, including west facing shores of the Big Island.

A south-southwest reinforcement is expected to maintain wave heights for southern shores through Thursday then fade Friday.

Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
