Ukiu Road, Crime Watch Topics of Makawao Community Meeting

The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development today announced that Maui Mayor Alan Arakawa, OED officials, Public Works Director David Goode and representatives from the Mayor’s Office and Maui Police Department will be in attendance at a Makawao Community Meeting on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016.

The meeting, organized by the Mayor’s Office and OED, will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Makawao School Cafeteria.

Agenda items include the proposed re-routing of one-way morning traffic on Ukiu Road, and a Business Crime Watch presentation by Maui Police Department.

Additionally, sign-ups are being taken for volunteer “Block Captains” in an effort to prevent crime, address safety concerns and facilitate interactions between merchants.

All interested residents and business owners are encouraged to attend.
