Special Pricing Saturday Only for Maxi Priest

The Maui Arts & Cultural Center will present international reggae star Maxi Priest and special guests Ekolu, Marty Dread and Riddum Station on Sunday, Feb. 28, in the Yokouchi Pavilion & Courtyard.

Tickets are available for purchase beginning Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m.; special $25 tickets are on sale Saturday only. After Saturday, tickets are $35; day-of-show are $45. A limited number of $75 VIP tickets ($85 day of show) are also available (all plus applicable fees).

The show starts at 3:30 p.m; gates open at 3 p.m.

Priest is a London-born reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent. He is best known for singing reggae music with an R&B influence—reggae fusion.

He became one of the first international successes who regularly dabbled in the genre and one of the most successful reggae fusion acts of all time.

Christened the “King of Lovers Rock” by his fans, Priest was one of the most internationally popular reggae singers since Bob Marley. Priest’s pop and modern R&B influences gave him a strong crossover appeal that paid off in the trans-Atlantic chart-topper Close to You. 

Only a handful of singers succeed in transcending their genre without losing the essence of who they are. Superstar Priest is one of those artists whose own unique vision has led him to tremendous international success. He is the first reggae artist to have a No. 1 hit worldwide, including the US Billboard charts.

The sophistication he brings to these tracks is the mark of true quality; his effortless blend of reggae, R&B and dancehall has universal appeal.

His most recent album, Easy to Love, includes his lead single, Easy To Love, a No. 1 smash hit on the reggae charts.
