Siren Testing on Maui March 30 and 31

The Hawaiʻi Emergency Management Agency together with the Maui County Civil Defense Agency, will conduct siren testing on Maui at the following locations during the respective dates and times listed below:

Wednesday, March 30 (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

• Pāʻia Youth & Cultural Center, Pāʻia

• Keʻanae Lookout, Keʻanae

• Hāmoa, Hāna

Thursday, March 31 (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

• Kenolio Park, Kīhei

These new sirens are part of the Statewide Siren Modernization Project. Residents nearby may hear the siren sound six to eight times for 30-second to one-minute intervals during the identified time-frame. Testing will include short blasts known as “burps.” During the tests, emergency management officials and technicians will check that installation work on this siren has been completed properly.
