Solid NW Swell Expected to Build Late

A Small Craft Advisory is posted for most Maui County channels through 6 p.m. Tuesday and could be extended if conditions persist.

Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be waist/head today.
West: Surf is pretty flat today for west shores that aren’t catching the northwest. Breaks catching the wrap are expected to be up to waist/head high.
South: Surf is waist high or less today.
Our current northwest swell is expected to continue slowly fading. Late tomorrow the first signs of a new round of swell could begin to build. The swell is expected to peak Wednesday afternoon/evening at double overhead or more at the best exposures. The swell is expected to slowly fade Thursday and Friday.
Minimal southerly swells will trickle in over the next few days. The next swell is expected to build in Thursday and peak Friday.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
