Motorists traveling to or from West Maui on are advised that they can expect heavy traffic on the Honoapi’ilani Hwy (30) in the area of Olowalu, near Cut Mountain/Mile Post Marker 17 due to a brush fire reported on Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2016.
Maui police will be alternating traffic until the fire is under control.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and remember to drive with caution as there are police officers and firefighters working close to the roadways.
