The Royal Order of Kamehameha I – Kahekili Chapter IV on Maui commemorates the life of Kamehameha the Great in procession in Kahului at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016.

The procession begins at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College, and concludes at Hoaloha Park in Kahului.

The event honors Kamehameha the Great who is credited with the unification of islands under one rule.

A separate, celebratory, Pa’u Parade and Ho’olaulea honoring the Kamehameha line will take place next Saturday, June 18 in West Maui.

The event Ho’olaulea begins at 9 am. at Keawaiki at the Lahaina Banyan Tree Park.  The parade starts at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the Front and Kenui Street intersection.

Festivities to include exhibits, a parade and parade and pā‘ū awards presentation, food booths by non-profits, Maui made crafters and local entertainment.

On Sunday, June 19, the festivities continue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
