Makawao Parade Application Deadline, June 15
The deadline for parade entries, signed waivers and payment for participants in the 51st Annual Makawao Parade is due by June 15.
The parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 2, 2016.
The Makawao community has come together to coordinate this Upcountry community and paniolo tradition with a Stick Horse Race at 8:30 a.m., for all ages and the Grand Paniolo Independence Day parade begins at 9 a.m.
The theme for this year’s parade is “Honoring our Heritage.”

They are also available at the Makawao History Museum, Fong Store, Miyake Concrete Accessories Inc., Maui Feed & Farm, Wai Ulu Farms, Del’s Feed & Farm Supply, Kula Hardware and Garden, Ha‘ikū True Valu, Komoda Bakery, Pukalani Superette and Ha‘ikū Hay & Grain.
Registration fees for the parade are $20 for horse units, $50 for nonprofit groups, and $200 for political and business floats of marchers.
There is a maximum of 40 people per parade entry.
The event will hold a mandatory meeting for parade marching participants at the Makawao Elementary School cafeteria on Wednesday, June 22, at 6 p.m.
