Today, June 14, 2016, a light dusting of snow was observed atop Hawaii’s highest peak.

Mauna Kea Rangers say the road to the summit has been re-opened after grading and remedial work was completed earlier today.

At 10:00 a.m. current conditions show a north wind at around 18 mph. The current temperature is 36° F with the wind chill making it feel like 25°. The Mauna Kea Observatories website shows that fog is also imminent.
