HCA-150x150All candidates for the House District 13 race (Pā‘ia-Ha‘ikū to Kaupo, and Moloka’i and Lāna’i) and the Ha‘ikū-Pā‘ia-Makawao County Council seat have been invited to the Ha’ikū Community Association’s 2016 Primary Election “Candidates Nite” on Thursday, July 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ha‘ikū Community Center.

The format will feature candidate panels answering questions posed by the Association on topics of concern to residents of the North Shore area, followed by a more informal “speed dating” process where community attendees pose questions to the candidates.

The meeting will also include brief updates on the reopening of Kalakupua Playground, the Hamakua Coastal Land purchase and other community topics.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for potluck pūpū and talk story; the event is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
