Kaiser Permanente Surpasses 100,000 KP.ORG Users

Kaiser Permanente recently surpassed 100,000 registered users on kp.org, representing a milestone in its push to provide convenient digital services to its members throughout Hawai‘i.
More than 56% of eligible members (ages 13 and up) in the state are now digitally engaged with healthcare services through My Health Manager, kp.org’s fully integrated and secure electronic member portal.
In the first quarter of 2016, kp.org received 485,966 total visits from Hawai‘i members, with roughly one-fourth of those visits (114,475) coming from mobile devices.
Kaiser Permanente saw an increase in lab results viewed, email messages sent to physicians and providers, prescriptions submitted and member bills paid online.
Online appointment scheduling experienced a record increase of 128.2% from the same period last year.

As of June 30, members viewed 480,775 lab results; sent 149,505 emails to physicians, filled 190,895 prescriptions and scheduled 34,147 appointments online.
“Our members in Hawai‘i are moving toward new digital features that make it easier to manage their health on the go,” said Mary Ann Barnes, RN, president of Kaiser Health Plan and Hospitals Hawaii Region. “Scheduling appointments, refilling prescriptions, or viewing lab results at the touch of a button are convenient options for busy patients. We are committed to investing in the latest technology that makes it possible for members to access care and services where and when they need it.”
Kaiser Permanente is a leader in health care technology, and members are connected to their providers through a comprehensive electronic medical record system, the largest private health record system in the world. Currently, members in the Hawaii region have the ability to receive care via video visits for health coaching, tobacco cessation and lactation support. Video visits will be expanding to other specialties in 2017.
