Q: I go to La Perouse Bay weekly and noticed the worst potholes in the 17 years I have lived here. Some are large enough to cause severe damage to tires and front ends. Work crews fill the holes periodically, usually in one day. The time is right for another work day there.

A: The most recent potholes have been fixed by the county, and right now, the road is again in better shape. The state and the county disagree on the question of which agency owns the road, but the state Department of Land & Natural Resources is committed to working with us and other partners to come to an agreement for continued road maintenance.

DLNR is in the process of conducting some projects in the area, and the parking lot for the reserve will be closed throughout October and possibly into November 2016.
