Refuse Pickups to Lahaina Postponed Due to Morning Accident

Refuse pick-ups delayed in Lahaina.

A residential refuse collection route in West Maui was not picked up today as a result of traffic delays resulting from a deadly motor vehicle accident reported on the Honoapiʻilani Highway on Tuesday morning.

The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division announced that all missed pickups are expected to be completed tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016.

Affected West Maui areas include: ʻĀinakea Road, Kahoma Street, Wahikuli Road, Malanai Street, Kuʻuipo Street, Aʻa Street, Lokia Street, ʻAipuni Street, Hoʻoli Street, Kaniau Road, Hanohano Street, Nāpili, Kahana, Lower Honoapiʻilani Highway, and all surrounding streets and roads.

The Solid Waste Division apologized for the inconvenience and extended their thanks to the community for their understanding and cooperation.
