Maui’s Souki Reaffirmed as House Speaker

The Hawaiʻi House of Representatives Majority Caucus reaffirmed Representative Joseph M. Souki of Maui as Speaker for the 2017 legislative session.

Speaker Souki was re-elected as Speaker of the House in January 2013. He previously served as Speaker from 1993 to 1999, and Speaker Emeritus from 2000 to 2013.

He also served as Chair of the Committee on Finance, and most recently as Chair of the Committee on Transportation.
