High Surf Warning Posted for Maui and Molokai

Alerts (as of 1:00 a.m.)
Wind Advisory: Islands of Lana’i and Kaho’olawe through 6 p.m. Monday for east winds from 25 to 35 mph, gusting to 50 mph. The summit of Haleakala is also under a wind advisory with winds from 35 to 55 mph, gusting to 65 mph.
High Surf Warning: North shores of Maui and Molokai until 6 p.m. Monday.
High Surf Advisory: East shores of Maui through 6 p.m. Monday.
Gale Warning: Pailolo and Alenuihaha channels through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Small Craft Advisory: All remaining coastal waters due to east winds 20 to 30 knots. Posted through Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Maui Surf Forecast
North: Surf dropping with waves about half as big as the peak on Sunday with overhead to double overhead waves in the morning and a dropping trend through the day.
West: Surf is knee/thigh high today for most westerly exposures with bigger waves at the best exposures catching the northwest wrap.
South: Surf is expected to be pretty flat today for southern exposures.
Our current NW swell is expected to be 50-60% the size it was Sunday on Monday. The swell will also decrease through the day.
A trade wind swell will also continue showing today.
Small south-southwest drops Monday to below waist high. Nothing significant is expected out of the SPAC in the near future although a small south swell is forecast for the 31st and 1st with another little bump on the horizon for the 4th.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
