New Large NW Swells Expected for Weekend

Maui Surf Forecast
North: Surf is head high to double overhead today in the morning with new swell building and double to triple overhead surf by the afternoon. The best breaks could get up to 18 to 20 foot faces or more. Pe’ahi may be even bigger.
West: Surf is pretty flat today. Spots catching some of the west-northwest wrap will be bigger.
South: Surf is pretty flat today. The best spots catching the wrap could get bigger.
Over the weekend, back-to-back large swells are expected with the first continuing to fill in Saturday and peaking at advisory levels in the afternoon / evening. The second swell is expected to be much larger, filling in late Sunday and peaking Sunday night into Monday at warning levels.
The front that is going to push down the island chain should create a northeast trade swell that could coincide with the peak of the second west-northwest swell.
Nothing significant expected out of the South Pacific any time soon.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
