Maui Ranked Among Top Destinations in US by TripAdvisor

Maui was ranked among the top destinations in the US in a new list compiled by the travel planning and booking site, TripAdvisor.

This year Bali, Indonesia is the global winner and New York City ranks number one in the US for the seventh consecutive year.

Maui was ranked #2 on the US list with highlights that include warm sand, windsurfing and snorkeling.  The site reports that the least expensive month to go is April, when travel is 8% less than the combined spring/summer average for hotel and airfare.  The site reports that the top rated tour on island is the Old Lahaina Lūʻau, bookable for $120 per person.

Hawaiʻi Island and Oʻahu also made the list at #3 and #4 respectively.

Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews and ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions over a 12-month period, as well as traveler booking interest on the site.
