Staff Shortage Disrupts Makawao Trash Pickup

Due to a manpower shortage, trash was not collected on a residential refuse route in the Makawao area on Monday, June 5, 2017.

Affected areas include: Makawao, Kealaloa and Baldwin Avenues; Miner, Ohaoha and Piʻikea Place; Ranch Acres subdivision; Olinda and Keʻe Road; and Maohu Street as well as all surrounding streets and roads.

The missed route will be completed on Tuesday, June 6, 2017. Department officials apologized for the inconvenience and thanked the community in advance for their patience and understanding.
