Power Restored to 286 on Moloka‘i, Rodent to Blame for Outage

Electrical service has been restored to all customers on Molokaʻi after a rodent came into contact with electrical equipment along Kalae Highway.

Maui Electric spokesperson Shayna Decker said an estimated 286 customers lost power in the incident in the Palaʻau area of Molokaʻi.

The outage was reported at 1:40 a.m. and power was restored to all customers as of 3:24 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
