Valley Isle Excursions Encourages Businesses to Support National Parks
Valley Isle Excursions, a Wailuku-based Maui tour company, became the first on the island to update its vehicles with specialty license plates that show appreciation for Hawaiʻi’s national parks. Sporting the iconic nēnē goose, the vanity plates pay tribute to Maui’s Haleakalā National Park.
“Supporting Hawaiʻi’s parks and community is an integral part of our company’s culture,” said Ray Hutaff, Vice President of Valley Isle Excursions. “These new license plates will serve as a constant reminder of the important responsibilities we have to protect our island’s parks and wildlife.”
For every plate sold, $18 goes directly to Maui’s Haleakalā National Park and Volcano National Park on Hawai’i Island to raise funds for resource protection and education projects at the two locations.
Valley Isle Excursions plans to convert their entire fleet to the new license plate design over the next week.
The company is also encouraging other Maui-based businesses and commercial fleets to show their support by opting for the new National Park specialty plates. “It’s also a great opportunity for rental car companies and residents to make an easy, yet much needed, contribution to Haleakalā National Park,” company representatives said.
Valley Isle Excursions was recently selected by the National Park Service to lead interpretive tours of Haleakalā National Park over the next 10 years. Guests can visit the Kīpahulu section of the park on the Road To Hāna Tour or the Summit Area during a daytime Haleakalā Tour. The company’s Haleakalā Sunrise Tour begins on Jan. 1, 2018.
