CEO of Boys & Girls Club Maui Celebrates 20 Years of Service

Since 1997, Kelly Pearson has been serving the youth of Maui. In honor of her 20-year commitment, Mayor Alan Arakawa issued a proclamation at an anniversary celebration held last week, naming Aug. 4, 2017, as “Kelly Pearson Day.”

Pearson started working at Maui Youth Centers back in 1997, the center then became affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to become Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui in 2000.

From 2000 to 2014, Pearson served as the Director of Operations for BGCM and in 2014 was named Chief Executive Officer.

“Because of Kelly’s dedication for the past 20 years, tens of thousands of Maui youth have been able to participate in live-changing programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui,” said Chris Minford, President of the BGCM Board of Directors.

“Kelly truly lives the Mission Statement of Boys & Girls Clubs of Maui: To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens,” he added.
