Mayor Alan Arakawa answers some of the most-asked questions submitted to his staff.

Aloha Mayor,

Q: There is a very large dying eucalyptus tree on county easement property across the street
from my carport.

I looks to me that it will be a direct hit on my carport and my car when it falls.

Is there any protocol to request the tree to be trimmed (topped) so that it won’t cause damage to my property?

A: Yes just send your name, address and a description of the tree’s location to [email protected] and we will send the county arborist to check it out.

If you can send pictures of the tree, that will help as well.
