Kīlauea Update: 9 Inches of Rain in Lower East Rift Zone Overnight

Today’s update includes information on the interesting weather occurring in the lower east rift zone. In fact, a community rain gauge recorded 9.22″ in a 24 hour period ending at 8 a.m. this morning.

Meteorologist Malika Dudley also shares the latest on just how much new land has been created, how many acres are currently covered by this latest eruption and an update on the southern flow front that is headed in the direction of Kua O Ka La Charter School and Ahalanui Beach Park.
