UPDATE:  Since the August 4th Friday was cancelled due to concerns about Hurricane Lane, Grow Some Good will be hosting its event outside Fork & Salad during the Kīhei town party on Friday, Sept. 28, with seed giveaways, coloring activities for keiki and a chance to win a $25 gift card to Fork & Salad.  There was reportedly a recent theft of garden tools that took years to accumulate, so they ask for the community’s support.

Starting Friday, Aug. 24th, with every purchase of a Buckwheat Noodle Salad, Fork & Salad will donate 50 cents to support Grow Some Good’s school garden programs.

With an emphasis on using local ingredients and supporting Maui farmers, the founders of Fork & Salad strive to make healthy, farm-fresh foods convenient and affordable. Their focus aligns with the mission of local non-profit Grow Some Good:  to cultivate healthier communities by supporting local agriculture and improving access to nutritious, affordable food.

Grow Some Good has created school gardens and provided educational garden classes in 11 Maui schools, serving over 4,000 students annually. Classes are scheduled during the school day, and have become a key component of supporting learning in science, math, art and culture. Funds donated by Fork & Salad will be used to support garden educators and materials used in classes.

The Buckwheat Noodle Salad is a chef-inspired signature salads, that includes garden-fresh goodness ingredients like radishes, bell peppers, carrots and avocado. The promotion will begin with a kickoff event on August 24 at the 4th Friday town party at Azeka Maui in Kīhei, where Fork & Salad in located. Grow Some Good will be on hand at there with fun back-to-school activities, along with plant and seed giveaways.

The fundraiser continues through February 2019 and is valid for purchases at both the Kīhei and Kahului locations of Fork & Salad. For more information about Grow Some Good, visit their website.
