Swell Summary

Outlook through Tuesday August 21: The current south swell is expected to gradually fade out today. A small south swell may give a modest boost to surf along south facing shores Wednesday night into the upcoming weekend. Surf along east facing shores will begin to decline today as trades begin to weaken. A very small northwest swell will be possible Wednesday through Thursday, boosting surf slightly along north facing shores. Otherwise, no significant swells are expected.
Surf heights are forecast heights of the face, or front, of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
